President's Message

The first day of the 2025-2026 school year is Wednesday! Before the big day, we hope to see you at Meet the Teacher tomorrow night. See the schedule below. Then hop on over to Altitude on Tuesday for a back to school Jump Off to see old friends and make new ones. Finally, we would love to see any parents who are able to attend at Tears and Cheers on Wednesday at 8:20 in the cafeteria.

MGE is beginning a new fundraising initiative this year- Sign Up Parties! Please consider hosting a party to help us make more improvements at MGE. Contact Kristin with any questions or for more info.

Are you a dad of a great student? Then you are a WATCH D.O.G.S. dad! Check out how you can get involved here.

A great big thank you to Kenzie W. and Emily S. for providing the teachers with a wonderful back to school lunch catered by Manditos. Another thanks to MGE parents Ewa Nielsen and Coleen Gokool for sponsoring the luncheon desserts. Ewa is a local realtor and Coleen is the owner of House Doctors. Check them out!

Meet the Teacher- Monday, August 11th

Please visit your child's classroom during the following designated times:

Classroom assignments will be available online in the Home Access Center on Monday, August 11th. If you cannot log-in or don't know who your teacher is, please ask at the front office on Monday.

Pre-K 3:30-4:00

Kindergarten & First Grades 4:00-4:45

Second & Third Grades 4:45-5:30

Fourth & Fifth Grades 5:30-6:15

Students in Special Education will be contacted by their child's teacher for a meeting time.

Spirit Wear

You can purchase from spirit wear inventory in the gym at Meet the Teacher for tax-free pricing! If we don't have your shirt size at Meet the Teacher, don't worry! The shirts were very popular so you will have another opportunity to order a shirt in your size. The second order will be delivered to your child's classroom and is estimated to arrive late September.

If you pre-ordered your spirit wear July 1-15, those will be available for pick up at Meet the Teacher.

Yearbook News

The Yearbook team would love to see the bright, smiling faces of students on their 1st day of school. Submit your photos via the QR code to be considered for use in the Yearbook. When asked for a name, please use your student's name! Thank you for your support!

Order your 2026 yearbook! We have an amazing year ahead of us at MGE, and our yearbook will capture all the big events of the school year. Order now before the price goes up ($45 through 9/12/25). Order today so you won't regret it in May!

PTA Membership is for Everyone!

MGE Parents & Families - we want YOU to join the MGE PTA for the 2025-2026 school year to help our kids have the best year possible. Registration is now open, you can easily join at www.joinpta.org.

A few important reminders:

-Each School Supply Kit includes 1 membership.

-All family members are welcome and invited to join the MGE PTA! Don’t forget to purchase memberships for both parents, grandparents, etc.

-Joining the MGE PTA is a great way to show school support and allows you to attend membership meetings. A portion of every membership goes directly into programming, and helps with educational advocacy at the state level by Texas PTA.

-Conveniently sign up at the PTA table at Meet the Teacher. We will also have a way to donate a PTA membership to any of our MGE Teachers at Meet the Teacher night if you are feeling generous!

We need your help! Please join other MGE parents as we complete workbasket items for our awesome teachers. Bring your scissors and come make a friend! Email president@mgepta.org with any questions.

If you pre-purchased school supplies, they will be in your student's classroom at Meet the Teacher. There will be a very limited supply of packs available to purchase in the gym that night.
